THIS SITE

When we started this Site we gathered information about the history of the 594th Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment, 4th Brigade, but soon realized that there was a huge amount of information, documents and photographs of the other five Engineer Special Brigades who served during and immediately after World War Two. Therefore, we expanded this site to include all 6 Engineer Special Brigades, and changed the name of the site to “"THE ARMY AMPHIBS”. 

The 1st, 5th and 6th Engineer Special Brigades served in the North African, Sicily, Italian and European Campaigns, including the Normandy Invasion. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Engineer Special Brigades served in the Pacific Campaigns, including New Guinea, New Britain, Philippine Islands and Japan.

We welcome donations of documents, photographs and information about these Special Engineer Brigades and will return them after scanning and posting of the information and/or photographs.
