Capt Wallner,,
Coy B 594 EB&S Regt,
USAF

Dear Captain Wallner

A brief note, now that the Brigade's task is nearly complete, to thank you all for the help you and your blokes have given us, since the day we first arrived in JACQUINOT BAY, Without it the Bde's job Just couldn't have been done

I'd like in particular to mention the work done by Sgt LUISI up here at WAITAVALO. I don't think I have ever seen a man who worked harder or more cheerfully. He and his crews have been called out time end time again at night ,both to get other craft out of trouble and to fetch wounded when our own craft couldn't get In. The wounded are full of praise for the care they got on board.

We have had to give the LCM'S far more work than I had anticipated, because rains and floods took all our bridges and roads away. However both Craft and crews have taken it magnificently; without them the weather would just have bogged us down.

I'll probably be down in WUNUNG before you go, in which case I'll look in to see you. In case that can't  be managed the whole Brigade wish you and your Company the best of luck in Japan. Wish we were coming with you,

                                 Regards                                                                                /s/ R.L.Sandover                                                                                               R.L.SANDOVER
