Address: America

Occupation: World War II Historian.  I make limited personal speaking appearances

Date of Birth: Born in time for World War II.

To Relax, I like to:  Tell a good story.

I admire: Americans, especially veterans. Many of our veterans are dying daily all over the world. If you see any veteran that’s wearing a cap, a shirt, or a jacket, take the time to thank him for giving you a safe place to live. He came back, many thousands didn’t.

How did you come to start your columns? Several months ago, I was discussing the factors that led up to WWII.  If only people knew what the circumsatances were through the eyes of someone who lived it, then it might make a good story. I’m an American citizen who comes from a long line of military people. I served in the South Pacific during WWII and in the military during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

You say you’re an American.  Why the Australian look? The Australian look and flavor is present because of the time I spent in that country.  The column is a true story as I recall the incidents as they happened.  The only things that have been changed are the names of the people; is to protect the innocent.

What makes this story so interesting? I’m telling a real and true story.  Only the people who lived through those times will fully understand what happened. The mood of the people, their anger, places and deaths are true, and you will read a lot about Americans dying all over the world.  A common bond welded them together as one. Today you might ask, “Why did these people sacrifice their lives as they did?” They did it for their country, their family, their neighbors. They did it for their buddies who were also dying for the same things. No one wants to die a violent death in a strange place but you have an obligation to the men in your squad, platoon, company, unit, ship or airplane.  Their life governs yours and yours belongs to them.
