2nd Engineer Special Brigade

Thanks to some very helpful veterans and their descendants, we have a lot of information about the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. One, a member of the 532nd EB&SR is Jack Fontz. The photo on the left shows Jack during WWII and the photo on the right shows Jack more recently.

The information for this Brigade is divided into 4 sections.

The 532nd contains information about past and perhaps future reunions.

The Book section is a copy of a book which is no longer in print, History of the Second Engineers Special Brigade. This book describes the training and Pacific combat experiences of the Second Brigade; it is a large section with a lot of text information as well as graphics.

The Diary section contains the text of a diary written by a veteran of the 2nd ESB and it describes some of the events in the book from a personal perspective. The 262nd was a medical Battalion of the 2nd ESB and the photos and information were provided by the son (Steve Schaffer) of a veteran of that Battalion (George Schaffer).
